I used to think managing anger and mental health is simply just about taking deep breaths.
I was wrong.
I’ve spent the better part of my life feeling angry. And for the longest time I felt depressed and was never pleased with anything in my life. It affected me at home, at work and especially in my relationships. Coupled with a dose of depression and anxiety, it just felt helpless for me to move forward.
Do you know that feeling when you just feel weighed down by everything around you?
I think there’s a lot of people out there who feel the same way.
I discovered many truths about myself over the years, including the effects of childhood abuse, trauma and living with family members with mental health challenges. It’s been quite the journey and ride, even terrifying sometimes. But what I gained by understanding myself more was a wealth of happiness and success.
When the answers finally came to me, I also gained clarity and motivation. I’ve not only become an author, I’ve also become a mental health speaker at conferences, a collaborator for men’s groups and a facilitator for workshops on mental health.
I started looking at life differently from a new set of lens and because of that, anger no longer controls my life and mental health.
